“Who do people say I am?” This is a question that Jesus once asked his disciples. It’s interesting the responses that He got. Then Jesus asked a more direct question.
Matthew 16:13-16 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
14So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
These are important questions to ask yourself. Who is Jesus to you? What does he mean to you? How do you know Him? What does He represent?
We have put together a collection of 50 short examples of what and who Jesus was – and is still today! 50 Ways to Know Jesus is a great way to learn more about Christ, or to introduce a new believer to Jesus.
Peter (scripture referenced above) had a great response to the question from Jesus. Unfortunately we cannot walk with Jesus the same way, so our response must be based on what the Bible tells us – and how Jesus has touched us in our own personal journey.
Everyone’s relationship to Jesus is a little different, so we tried to use as many Bible scriptures as possible, rather than creating our own “lessons”.
Throughout 2015 another “way” will be added every week or so until the list is complete!
Enjoy, and DIVE INTO HIS WORD!
